we were invited to perform traditional and folk music from very different regions from south of (what is now) the border e.g., Mexico, Central America and South America
One ensemble would play then the other then the other
MUSIC FROM BOTH AMERICAN CONTINENTS and while each ensemble played mightily, it wasn't until both ensembles played the same music at the same time that the MUSIC TRANSCENDED instruments, language, cultura and borders
the highlight of the evening was when both ensembles performed Woody Guthries THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND
